On February 3, 1916, the Canadian Parliament building caught on fire and quickly destroyed most of the building. For the last 100 years investigators and historians have tried to shed light on the causes of the disaster. After all, the fire occurred while German sabotage agents in the US had orders to attack Canadian and US targets to stem the flow of munitions to Europe. This paper will examine the state of knowledge of this fire and introduce new sources to advance the theory of German involvement in the conspiracy.
